If only this were true! Ames sets our hearts a flutter with a novel about a woman who becomes President of the United States beating a candidate that reminds me of Trump. Not sure if that was what she was going for but I’m choosing to think the person is he who must not be named. She becomes the 46th President. She is a lesbian and a widow, which leaves room for a love interest.

The book is set in present day and spans the entire first term of the woman’s presidency. I like her because she stands up for the people and makes changes that I would love to see happen today. Her love interest is a General and is a member of the Army. They meet and begin their relationship with admiration. The only thing I am not loving is the way they come together.
