A More Perfect Union ~ Carsen Taite

Published December 2017 ~ Bold Strokes Books

Two women, one a Major in the Army and whistle-blower, the other a D.C. fixer - what a combination. I liked the Major’s character, she was strong and stood for what is right by blowing a cover-up at the base where she was stationed. Fast forward and she gets picked to work at the Pentagon for her honesty. Plus she gets to work for her mentor, a general who took her under his wing. The fixer is a great character as well. She’s spins the indiscretions of politicians and famous people to put them in a favorable light. The Major doesn’t like what she stands for and the fixer hates the military.

Taite weaves the reader through the politics of Washington D.C. and the Pentagon. This is a follow-up book to Courtship. One of the characters from Courtship has a supporting role in this story. The only thing I found missing from the story was an ending that told me what happened to the characters after they got together. I’m one of those readers that likes to see where the characters go.
