Second Nature ~ Jae

❤❤❤❤

I’m a sucker for shapeshifters, werewolves, etc. Jae has written a story with a cool concept. A woman writer is writing a story about shapeshifters. The shapeshifter community thinks she must be talking to someone because her information is too close to home for her to making it up. They send in a member of their community to find out where she is getting her information and once they have that information, the shapeshifter has to decide what to do about the woman. In the meantime, she’s got a boss who thinks the woman should be killed regardless of what the shapeshifter finds. Chaos ensues especially when the shapeshifter falls in love with the human.

I decided to change up my blog a bit and give a summation of the story (I’m trying not to give the story away so keeping with not mentioning names of characters or giving too much detail into the story) and then focus on what I liked and didn’t like about the story. I’ve done that somewhat in my other reviews, but I want to be more clear and hopefully, make my blog worth reading for you.

I liked the characters in the story. Jae spend time with her characters, giving the reader a good idea of what each character was thinking and why they were thinking the way they did. On the other hand, I would have liked to find out a bit more about the supernatural community. She gave us breadcrumbs of the world the supernaturals lived in, but I would have liked to experience a bit more. Also, there was some sex, but not a lot. I’ve always imagined in my mind that wolves are a bit randy so I would have likes more a struggle with the main character trying to maintain her distance from the human.
