Face the Music ~ Ali Vali

Published April 2020 ~ Bold Strokes Books

❤❤❤❤

Vali strayed away from New Orleans and set her book in Nashville. This story is about a woman who works for a Country Music Legend, who also happens to be her mother. The Mother is the antagonist in this story as she is abusive and addicted to drugs and alcohol. The Mother is represented by a company whose owner sends his daughter to help solve a PR nightmare when the mother overdoses and ends up in the hospital. The daughter and the owner’s daughter don’t hit it off immediately, but it doesn’t take long for love to blossom. Vali includes lots of sex in this story so you know I love that and I like the two main characters.

I was disappointed that the story seemed to be rushed in the end for the part of the mother. She’s the pain in the butt not nice component of the book and really I wanted her to get her comeuppance, but within the last few chapters of the book all is forgiven. If felt as if Vali was trying to tie everything up with a nice bow. I would have been okay with the Mother not being forgiven. That being said, the book was still a great read.
