Taking a Shot at Love ~ KC Richardson
Published February 2020 ~ Bold Strokes Books
I really liked this book. The two main characters are a few years younger than me, but are still within my age range. The story is about two women who work at a university, notice each other across the room, but don’t get the chance to meet each other. Later on in the story, they meet because of a student who needs help. One of the women is a basketball coach and the other is an English teacher. The student is failing the English teachers class and the coach gets together with the teacher to figure out how to help the student. Misunderstandings ensue, but the attraction is real.
My favorite parts of the story focus on the extracurricular activities of the English teacher. I don’t want to give anything away, but suffice it to say some of the scenes are sexy as hell. The sex scenes are well done as well. One of the supporting characters is a jerk and I loved that she got her just desserts towards the end of the story. Richardson didn’t leave any of the characters hanging and if you’ve read some of my other posts, you know that is a bummer for me.
