Desire by Starlight ~ Radclyffe

Published November 2010 ~ Bold Strokes Books

There are a couple of reasons why I like books written by Radclyffe. First reason - you don’t have to worry about grammar, sentence structure, story cohesiveness, etc. She has been writing for a long time and you can tell. Second reason - she always includes lots of sex. More than your standard sex you get with most lesbian novels. Some people may not like all the sex, but if I’m reading a romance I want to read sex scenes. I grew up with Harlequin Romances and Gothic Romances. The best was Gothic Romance even if it was heterosexual sex.

This story focuses on two women who have escaped their past and want to leave the past in the past. Unfortunately or fortunately, both women are drawn to each other and fear that their pasts are going to affect their relationship. One of the characters is a romance writer who grew up poor in a small town and vowed she would never return to those feelings of being out of control. The other character is a country veterinarian and has escaped her over indulged life where the woman she thought she loved only wanted her for what she had to offer. Radclyffe is a great story teller and if you have a chance to read any of her books, I highly recommend you read at least one of them. I will be talking about more of her books as I continue this blog. If you want to read this novel select the link, Desire by Starlight.
