Finding Sky ~ Cass Sellars

❤❤❤❤

Published October 2019 ~ Bold Strokes Books

I’ve not read anything by Sellars, but I’m glad I did. She gives the reader an inside view of a company run by a CEO who wants to do good in the world and not rake in the dollars. If only we had more companies like this with leaders who cared about their employees and the legacy they want to leave behind. Of course, the CEO is one of the main characters and the other is the Finance manager. The CEO struggles with going through the motions with a beautiful woman who does not give her butterflies. The Finance manager struggles with trusting people.

Sellars introduces sex into the story about a quarter of the way through the story. Not between the characters but between the CEO and her butterflyless (made up word) girlfriend. The characters do eventually get together and the sex is written like all other authors write about sex. The one of the things I liked, when the angst is introduced the Finance manager doesn’t hold anything back. She speaks the truth about the CEO and as a reader you feel bad for the character, but you are also saluting the Finance manager for not being namby pamby about the way she feels.
