Temptation ~ Kris Bryant
Published January 2020 ~ Bold Strokes Books
I’m not a big fan of the May - December romances. I’m sure that there are plenty of relationships out there that are thriving, but it’s been my experience they don’t usually work. With that being said, Kris Bryant does a great job of selling this type of relationship. Of course, it a taboo relationship between an employer (Mother) and employee (Nanny). Both the characters try to fight their attraction especially the Mother, but in the end, she can’t resist the Nanny. The relationship between the Nanny and her charge is a lovely component to the story. Don’t be fooled, this story has a bit of angst and sadness, but in the end it all works out.
I would have liked to have seen a little more depth to the sister of the main character. She is venomous about her sister having a relationship with the nanny, and Kris blames it on the sister feeling like the Nanny is a gold digger, but the reader doesn’t know why she’s so angry. It would have been fun to get a little more backstory on the sister. She felt more like a cursory character so why did she have the power to cause such angst for the two main characters?
